ABOUT THE SPLASHERS!
The Splashers, the swim team of the Lake Hills
Community Association, is a cherished community
organization.
LHCA
SWIM INSTRUCTION
ELIGIBILITY
Children as young as 4-years-old may join, as
long they can swim the length of the pool. The
oldest swimmers can be 18-years-old.
Membership
on the Splashers is open to both LHCA and non-LHCA
members.
SEASON START
The competitive season begins in mid-April with
Quickstart training, a required program for all
new swimmers and all children under 6 years old.
The season runs through the end of June, with
an average of 6-8 meets, depending on the schedule
set by the swim league. (Scheduling is rotated
among the 10-11 teams in the league.)
REGISTRATION DATES
Registration dates will be determined in January
2007. Registration begins in early April and will
be held at the LHCA Clubhouse. Check here for
future notices or look for other advertisements
at Valley View elementary school, Westridge Middle
School, WCID #18 water bills and the neighborhood
sign.
FEES
Fees will be determined in January 2007. Check
here for future notices. Non-LHCA members pay
$25 more in fees than do LHCA members.
TEAM INFORMATION
• The Splashers typically have between 120-170
swimmers each year.
• The team requires members to purchase
team swimsuits
• Splashers must attend 4 practices each
week.
• Practices are after school from mid-April
to school release date (usually the Thursday before
Memorial Day).
• Once school ends, practices are held in
the morning, in order to accommodate the LHCA
pool operating schedule.
• Meets are generally held on Saturday mornings,
beginning with warm ups at 7 a.m. and end no later
than 11:30 a.m. so that the LHCA pool may open
for regular members.
• One parent per family is expected to perform
a volunteer function at the meets – i.e.,
concessions, parking, clean up, set-up/tear down,
team parent, timers, heat sheet runners, age group
parents. The Splashers couldn’t function
without the help of its faithful volunteers.
